Parentheses and brackets are the cleanest way to "wrap" part of a nick - that's why they show up in almost every name with a guild tag, a squad prefix or a highlighted initial. Common parentheses ( ) and braces { } are in any font; the fullwidth versions （）｛｝ come from the CJK block and take up twice the space, forming more pronounced frames.
The Eastern brackets 「」, 『』, 【】, 〔〕, 〖〗, 〘〙 and 〚〛 are standard in Japanese and Chinese writing for quotation and emphasis - in a nick they produce that "anime/competitive" look that many guilds adopt. For a two/three-letter tag (【FF】, 【TOP1】) they're the most-used choice. The angular brackets 〈〉 and 《》 work when you want the effect of an arrow pointing at the name.
